Religious Education

Saint Victor Parish continues to strive in many ways to enhance the Spiritual Formation of our parishioners. We view religious education as an ongoing, lifetime commitment and provides religious education for all age levels from youth to adult.

CCD: Our CCD program provides a comprehensive, structured program of religious education for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Sacramental preparation classes are 3rd grade - First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion - and 8th grade - Confirmation. All of our CCD teachers are volunteers who teach by their word and example to help our children to recognize God’s presence in their daily life. For more information about our CCD program, please contact the Religious Education Office at (724)265-4040, or email stvictorsccd@consolidated.net.

High School Program:  Our parish High School Program provides continuing religious education for high school students in 9th through 12th grade.  The program meets once a month during the school year for an evening of faith formation.  Please see the calendar on the Events Page for dates and times.  For more information about our High School Program, please contact  Linda Jaros, Director of Religious Education, at (724)265-4040,  or email stvictorsccd@consolidated.net.

RCIA:  The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)  is the process through which interested adults and older children are  gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic Faith and way of  life.   For more information about this process, of if you are interested in becoming a Catholic Christine, please contact Amy Salera, RCIA coordinator, at (724)265-2070.

Vacation Bible School:   Each June, our Vacation Bible School (VBS) swings into action with a 5-day session designed to present Jesus to children in a fun-filled way.  Combining lessons and stories from the Bible with a variety of arts and crafts, snacks, and outdoor games and activities, this program is open to children of all faiths, ages 3 - 11.  Many of our former VBS campers and youth group members volunteer their time and talents assisting our CCD staff to make this an educational and entertaining start of summer vacation.
