Liturgical Minister Schedule
The word "liturgy" comes from the Greek word leitourgia which means "work of the people." As Catholics, we use the word "liturgy" to refer to the celebration of the Mass, the center of our faith life. Together, as a church family, we are all called to participate in the liturgy through our prayer, song and spoken responses at Mass. Some of us also feel called to serve at Mass as liturgical ministers. Our liturgies at Saint Victor Parish couldn’t be successful without our wonderful group of liturgical ministers sharing their time and talent with our parish community!
Altar Servers: assist the priest or deacon during the celebration of Mass, the Sacraments, and other Liturgical ceremonies.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: are laypersons who assist the priest or deacon with the distribution of Holy Communion to the faithful during Mass.
Lector: clearly and reverently proclaim the Word of God, as contained in the Sacred Scriptures, at Mass and other Liturgical functions.
Cantor: a person who sings solo verses or passages to which the choir or congregation responds.
**Please notify the rectory and check the weekly bulletin for any changes**
If you are not scheduled but are in attendance at any Mass that needs volunteers, please consider volunteering. After reviewing the schedule, if you have any changes, please contact the Rectory so that we can list these changes in the bulletin. Also, remember that it is your responsibility to provide a replacement if you cannot serve. If you do receive a call or email from someone asking for you to substitute for them, please be accommodating.
IF ANYONE IS THINKING ABOUT BEING A EUCHARISTIC MINISTER OR LECTOR, PLEASE LET US KNOW NOW, SO THAT YOU CAN BE INCLUDED ON THE NEXT SCHEDULE!
Thank you for the time you spend serving St. Victor Parish.
